Babe has been adopted and is alive and well at her fur-ever home.

Babe Ruth was an adorable dachshund puppy that was born with a congenital defect called megaesophagus, or a narrowing of the throat. The defect meant that the puppy would have a difficult time swallowing solid foods and was not expected to live into adulthood. Molly accepted this puppy and worked dilligently to ensure it had a quality life for as long as possible. As you’ll see in the photos below, it was best to feed Babe Ruth in an upright position which aided in digestion of a nearly liquid diet.
